On October 21st MCAI presents three well-known producers sharing Do’s and Don’ts for different approaches to multi camera productions. From big remote trucks to fly-pak switchers to isolated cameras, our experts work both live and on recorded media. Come early and network with fellow professionals.

Our three expert guests all do programs and event coverage for broadcast, networks, corporate communications and the internet as well as commercials and other forms. Tonight they’ll discuss productions that require more than one camera. Do you really need a big remote truck which is a traveling studio in a semi-trailer? When does that option become a better choice than isolating mutiple cameras and putting it all together in post? How about a portable fly-pak with switcher? What's the best way to economically cover a corporate event where the budgets are limited? And, how many cameras are enough? This promises to be an informative evening filled with practical information. Our guests will share insights into a variety of ways to shoot multi-cam productions.
John Coleman is a producer-director-writer, media consultant and a long-time member of the Directors Guild of America. He has over 25 years experience in broadcast TV, cable, corporate communications and interactive media. This is his 15th year producing television coverage of The Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races. It is a large multi-camera production shot mostly live-on-tape and will air on the SPEED Channel. Besides sporting events, Coleman’s firm, Twin Oaks Communications, http://www.twinoaks.t... has produced multi-camera corporate events for streaming, music and comedy specials for broadcast as well as single-camera film-style commercials, corporate marketing, training and sales videos. Coleman has also produced and directed a number of cable TV series.
For the last five years Producer-videographer, Bill Ennis, has produced TV coverage of the Ms Fitness USA and Ms. Fitness World competitions for Fox Spots Net. Both shows are created from one large multi-camera production. Bill began his career in 1982 as staff producer and co-host of a weekly, half-hour television program in Southern California. Only a few years later Ennis founded Media Magic, www.MediaMagic.TV a full-service, corporate and commercial television production company specializing in local and regional television commercials; corporate sales, marketing and training presentations; music videos and infomercials for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, international corporations, small businesses and advertising agencies.

Producer-videographer, Bruce Gleason, has over 25 years experience in video production. His company, Thumbs Up Video Productions, http://www.thumbsupvi... offers multi-camera production with a portable fly-pak that includes switcher and 3 cameras and works with multiple formats. They specialize in recording and streaming live dance contests and have even created an on-demand service for online PPV screening.
